Who want to bet it’s not about NELLY???

Such a lovely couple. I am a LIBRA too so I feel her pain. We love hard, but we bounce back like no other. He’ll be back girl, it’s up to you if you allow him to!

LOSE to WIN: A Battle I Know Too Well! Fantasia Performs Live on American Idol!

Fantasia Performs New Hit Single "Lose to Win" on American Idol.
Fantasia Performs New Hit Single “Lose to Win” on American Idol.

Watching Fantasia stand in the very spot she started from, riddled with emotion, I started crying uncontrollable tears. See I know first hand what it’s like to lose, with no winning in sight. For me, this performance was a holy ghost takeover. With bitter sweet chills, bottom lip trembles, magnified over the airways healing so many young girls who may have never experience this kind of heartbreak, but now have hope that they can survive one. Plus, healing the mature woman as well, who knows exactly the name of the man who these lyrics apply to. Who she lost herself to. Who she’s fighting to take her power back from, now in this very moment.

Young Aretha I call her (Fantasia), still so very vulnerable, humble and approachable.  I only wish I could’ve heard from you last night. I can see the blessed energy running through you, and I understand why you couldn’t say anything after that spiritual fight. I’m sure you’ve performed that song countless times. On TV Shows globally, but I think maybe because you were full circle, standing on the stage that launch your dynamic career, GOD took over and you left everything on the stage.

You’ve had an amazing walk in life. Now you have a wonderful and joyful journey ahead of you. Unbeknownst, you’re taking me with you. You truly undressed this pretty picture I created, and reminded me I still have some healing to do. I sincerely thank you for that. I will continue to pray for your greatness, your peace, to accompany you even whenever you feel the pressures of mass media and unforgivable press. The industry is brutal, but what you have surpasses all things superficial. I see the GOD in you. Let your light shine girlfriend!!!

Many Blessings!

HIP HOP’s REBIRTH: PAPOOSE DEBUTS “THE NACIREMA DREAM” at SOB’s NYC!

The Nacirema Dream Album Cover
The Nacirema Dream Official Album Cover

Some people get confused between Rap and Hip Hop. However, to the true music lover, PAPOOSE  is the clear difference. I believe Rap only has one main element of Hip Hop and that’s RHYME. NOT Deejay, NOT Emcee, NOT Bboy or Bgirl, NO Loyalty nor Kinship, NOTHING Artistic or Visual, because Big Booties and Fast Cars don’t count as Art that Graffiti holds. Plain and simple, NO real elements of REAL LIFE.

At a RAP Show, I can see them sweatin off mollies and groupies strippin, cause they’ve been told it’ll get them backstage, and land them in the lap of money. At a Hip Hop Show, like The NACIREMA DREAM | PAPOOSE Official Album Release Party, I attended (3/27/13 at SOB’s in New York City), I saw REAL LIFE, unorchestrated moments, like when an audience member felt so comfortable to get on stage and disclose her battle with Cancer, after hearing, PAPOOSE perform his new song “Cure”, featuring Erykah Badu. Along side, radio and media trendsetters like DJ Kay Slay, DJ Enuff , Akeem Shabazz and DJ Juanyto were live and in effect as they gave their support to the Brooklyn living legend himself. And, of course, his manager and close friend Du Love, was head noddin while tweaking any and all details, making sure the party popped off as planned.

It’s been 10 years strong in the making. Watching this incredible emcee pounding the blacktop, mixtape after mixtape, keeping his name and more important, his HBM (Honor Before Money), movement alive and relevant in the blurred community of Hip Hop and Rap. Respected by the grimiest character, THE NACIREMA DREAM dropped to thousands of extremely anxious fans, even more like hungry congregation, because the album went to chuuuurch!

Well, the anticipation is over!!! Tracks like “What’s My Name” featuring his wife Remy Ma,  “Alphabetical Slaughter Part II / Z to A” and, “On Top Of My Game” featuring  Mavado, will definitely set the tone of the future of Hip Hop.
